Mary Tozer
It is with great sadness that we announce the news of the death of Mary Tozer. Mary contacted "Brief Lives - Remembered" in June 2022 with a request to trace the resting place of her son who was stillborn in July 1958
Mum was a complex individual , my take is the impact of losing her first child caused a huge trauma which changed her for the rest of her life. I think this translated in to how she parented my brother and I which was so complicated.
She was desperate to know what had happened to Steven but to me it seems she was so entrenched in that grief, I think she thought it was disrespectful and unbecoming of a mother to let it go if that makes sense.
She was so grateful that he was found, she told everyone about you and what you had achieved. Definitely found some peace in that she was able to go to his grave and pay her respects, he is buried coincidentally next to her Auntie, Uncle and their very young son which she found some comfort in too as ‘he wasn’t there on his own’.
