Miscarriage

Warm summer

Suffocating my skin

Your visit unwelcome

Blue bleached sky

In box squares

My gaze lost through

The hospital window

At twenty something weeks

Incinerated

And then incarcerated

In my heart forever

Put to death

As once you were conceived

In an instant

No coffin carried

Nor chance to say goodbye

And now

Cheated

Of your very existence

Because the extra days

that should have counted

Didn’t

As day to night

You were gone

Into the hands of another

 And the sky mocking

Its colour blue.

And tennis at Wimbledon

continued

As it does every year

On your anniversary
